O 71º Directors Guild of America Awards foi entregue no sábado à noite (02/02) em Los Angeles. Aisha Tyler (Criminal Minds) foi a apresentadora do DGA Awards 2019, que aconteceu no Ray Dolby Ballroom do Hollywood & Highland Center em Hollywood.
Em sua cerimônia, o DGA reconheceu o trabalho dos diretores mais proeminentes deste ano na televisão e no cinema. Tanto os intérpretes experientes quanto os iniciantes foram indicados por suas habilidades de direção em documentários, longas-metragens, séries de TV, programas infantis e muito mais. Entre os indicados deste ano estavam Bradley Cooper (Nasce Uma Estrela), Boots Riley (Sorry To Bother You) e Daina Reid (The Handmaid’s Tale). Mas foi Alfonso Cuarón que levou para casa o prêmio de melhor longa-metragem por Roma.
Enquanto isso, os apresentadores do DGA Awards 2019 incluíram os vencedores do passado: Paris Barclay, Guillermo del Toro, Ron Howard e Jordan Peele, junto com Yalitza Aparicio, Christian Bale, Paris Barclay, Linda Cardellini, Marina de Tavira, Sam Elliott, Laura Harrier, Dennis Haysbert, Brian Tyree Henry, Dolores Huerta, Quincy Jones, Stan Lathan, Viggo Mortensen, Sarah Paulson, Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Octavia Spencer, John David Washington e Constance Wu.
