Megadeth | Dave Mustaine é diagnosticado com câncer na garganta

Dave Mustaine, vocalista e guitarrista da banda Megadeth, anunciou hoje, 17 de junho, em suas redes sociais que foi diagnosticado com um câncer na garganta.

I’ve been diagnosed with throat cancer. It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on – but I’ve faced obstacles before. I’m working closely with my doctors, and we’ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Unfortunately, this requires that we cancel most shows this year. The 2019 Megacruise will happen, and the band will be a part of it in some form. All up to date information will be at megadeth.com as we get it. “Eu fui diagnosticado com câncer na garganta. É claramente algo a ser respeitado e enfrentado de frente – mas já enfrentei obstáculos antes. Estou trabalhando de perto com meus médicos e mapeamos um plano de tratamento que eles acham que tem uma taxa de sucesso de 90%. O tratamento já começou”, disse o cantor em nota oficial.

Em virtude da doença, a banda cancelou a maioria dos shows de 2019, incluindo as apresentações no Brasil. O Rock in Rio estava na agenda do Megadeth. O grupo tocaria em 04 de outubro, dia destinado ao rock pesado.

A organização do festival lamenta o estado de saúde de Mustaine e informa que já está trabalhando para a substituição da banda.
